After sewing since I was a young girl, I began quilting about
twelve years ago. I experimented with many different quilting
styles until I discovered the minimalism and negative space of
modern quilting suited me perfectly.
I began designing quilt patterns and blogging in 2009. I currently
have 19 patterns on the market and am represented by four different
distributors. I have vended at International Quilt Market since
spring of 2013. To date, I have had ten quilts published in
Interweave magazines including Quilting Arts Gifts, Stitch and
Modern Patchwork (one on the cover). My quilt, Crosswalk, was
included in Quilter's Newsletter's Best Modern Quilts 2013 and
another of my quilts will be included in QN's Best Christmas Quilts
later this year. I appeared in four episodes of Quilting Arts TV
series 1200.
My quilt, Ephemeral Elegance, won first place in its category at
the American Quilter's Society show in Paducah, KY in 2011. The
same quilt was displayed at Quilts Inc's Houston show in 2012.
Think Positive is traveling with the American Quilter's Society's
Modern Quilt Challenge during 2013 and 2014.
I love to teach quilters as well and have been fortunate to teach
with the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo during this past year
and for several quilt guilds, including the guild I joined when I
first started quilting. I was also one of the teachers at the first
QuiltCon (by the Modern Quilt Guild) in 2013.
I have contributed to:
Sew Gifts! by Martingale, pub 2013
Fun Sized Quilts by Martingale, due out July, 2014
I will be contributing a bias appliqué design to a book in progress
by Casey York and Stash Books, planned publication date is Spring
2016.
