Reviews

..".offers students a more organized text and requires fewer modifications from teachers . . . presents the study of language in a way that makes students want to learn more.... a rare find in an introductory linguistics text." "Covers all topics I typically cover and covers them extremely well...an upbeat, readable, and entertaining (without being frivolous) presentation of complex linguistic concepts. Truly, I have never encountered such an engaging introduction to the linguistic sciences."
