This is a little gem of a book. I also have the Food of China larger book which contains more recipes than this one. However, when I travel to a friend's house to whip up an authentic chinese dish or want a quick easy reference I go to the Little Taste series first. I have tried several dishes and they are true to taste with easy to find ingredients. The selection of recipes range from banquet style dishes you would find in a formal restaurant, to street food from a small family run eatery. There are also some favourites of simple tasty everyday homecooked dishes e.g. egg and tomato, flash-fried snow pea shoots with garlic and steamed fish.
