Raphaela Angelou is a New South Wales-based poet and artist who has published articles in a range of magazines including the A ustralian Womens Weekly, Practical Parenting and The Big Issue. Her first boo, Poets Reflections, was published in 2002. Raphaelas artworks and poetry are sold in gift shops and through her business, Avalons Gnome. Raphaela is also proud of her involvement with Brand New Day, a group which aims to link women and girls with relevant services, and uplift and support them: www.brandnewday.org.au An avid reader, she has several books on her bedsite tabel at anuy given time. Despite the tragic events retold in her book, Rapaela says she is still cheeky, irreverent and has great passion for life, so much so that she wants to do everything all at once. Married for 13 years, Raphaela and her husband Charlie are the proud parents of their five-year-old miracle daughter, Elizabeth and they live with budgies, finches a canary and a couple of guinea pigs.
