DON DUNBAR is the only son of Marvin W. Dunbar. Don has spent much of his life, perhaps eighty percent, outdoors. He loves horses, cattle, and sheep ranching and has been a horsemanship instructor, a riding master, and working cowboy on many western United States ranches. He loves to guide and, like his father, has been a big game hunting guide and scout for elk, moose, deer, upland game birds, and rainbow and German Brown trout, logging 1.6 million miles of adventure on foot and horseback throughout the western United States. Don is an avid reader, with a near complete mastery of seven hundred sixty thousand words of the English language, coupled with a close to 100% photographic memory. He was spending countless hours in the bunkhouse reading hundreds of books starting at the early age of four. His favorites include the complete works of Ayn Rand (including We the Living, The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged). He loves all Louis L'Amour westerns and Taylor Caldwell (The Captains and the Kings), all of Tom Clancy, Dr. CLean Skousen (The Miracle of America, The Clensing of America), Ian Flemming (James Bond 007). Don is a cowboy "trekkie", i.e James Blish (writer) and Gene Roddenberry (producer) of TV's hit series Star Trek. Don couldn't wait for the next month's edition of Reader's Digest to arrive. Last, but not least, Don believes every word of The Book of Mormon, written by Nephi, Moroni, and translated by Joseph Smith Jr. Don has one son, Jack Marvin Dunbar, also an accomplished cowboy, cattleman, and rodeo roughstock rider, and a daughter, Angela. All three reside in Utah, but Don lives in the Rocky Mountains.
