An unsettling tale that explores the impact of loss and the devastation that hits when the foundations on which we rely are swept away.
Wyl Menmuir is a novelist and editor based in Cornwall. His
bestselling debut novel, The Many, published by Salt, was
long-listed for the 2016 Man Booker Prize.
Wyl has also been published in A Space to Write, a book exploring
authors’ creative writing practices, in nature and academic
journals, and he writes regularly for a range of national magazines
and blogs. Wyl lectures in creative writing and is also currently
writer in residence at Richard Lander School in Truro. Acclaimed
singer-songwriter Gavin Osborn has fire in his belly, stories to
tell and a new-found sense of hope in his heart. Known for his
storytelling shows with comedian Daniel Kitson (Stories For the
Starlit Sky) and now with five studio albums under his belt, Gavin
is a regular on the festival scene (Latitude, Green Man,
Indietracks), familiar to listeners of BBC Radio 4 (Alun Cochrane's
Fun House) and an audiobook narrator for several titles, including
Living a Laptop Lifestyle.
‘He deserves 10 out of 10 when it comes to the creation of
atmosphere, and Menmuir can certainly write … A writer to
watch.’
*The Independent*
‘Menmuir’s homespun horror has flashes of Daphne du Maurier’s
ghost-gothic and John Wyndham’s dystopia while displaying its own
individuality and flair.'
*The Guardian*
‘... an intriguing first novel.’
*The Times*
