Did the person writing the 1st review actually read this book?
If you are looking for a series romance read (you know, typical formulaic 180 page romance) then look elsewhere. If you are a die-hard fan then go ahead...
This book is just filling in time between Long Tall Texan hardcovers from this author. It crosses the t's and dots the i's on Harley Fowlers' story, who appears in previous books and whom fans have been demanding his story. It does not live up to the hype - there is no chemistry between the leads, no conflict to resolve and they get married after 3 or 4 dates, without him technically popping the question.
There is lots of intrigue - 2 murders - in sleepy Jacobsville Texas, a place where mercenary soldiers go to retire and federal agents choose to live. Believable, I think not... I am sure the mystery will be solved in the next hardcover (Kilraven's story).
