Valerie Fries Wade, MM, CAE, is a successful association executive working in the world of not-for-profits. She earned her bachelor degree in psychology from the University of California in Long Beach and later achieved her Master's in Management from the University of Phoenix. What most people do not know about her it that she spent more than 4 years clawing her way off the streets to get back into a mainstream life. Her first book: Memoirs of Dakini: True Confessions of a Former Flower Child reveals the trials and tribulations of a runaway turned homeless teen. Valerie is now living the life of her dreams in Portland, Oregon where she resides on a small mountain top retreat with her husband: Jeremiah, her service dogs: Isis and Hank, five mischievous cats and six curious Alpaca.
