About the Author

Franklin J. Anderson is an original cast member of the Diary of Black Men subtitled How Do You Love a Black Woman. He toured with the play in over 70 cities in the U.S. and Canada and was with the production when it won the 1st NAACP Black Image Award for theatre in 1987. He has also toured with the play Camp Logan as well as he has appeared on stage in numerous productions in his hometown of Houston. As a writer, his play Class had a limited off-Broadway run at the Tribeca Theatre in New York. And his one act play Tattered Dreams was nominated for best play by the Houston Ensemble Theatre in 1996. Currently Franklin is adjunct faculty in African American Studies at the University of Houston.
