Having never read the other books in this trilogy and viewing rhis book as a stand alone novel I found it slow to start with and as though I had missed details but soon found it to be a fulfilling and satisfying novel as Meridon attempts to find a home having never felt like a true Romany child, get over the death of her sister Dandy, and find the love of an unexpected man.

As a fan of Philippa Gregory books, I was rather disappointed with this trilogy, the plot at times quite disturbing especially so in the first and second of this series. I felt that this book didnt need to be written as it seemed to drag out.
