Writing began for me as a child in a spiral notebook. Then, after many busy years, I began writing our large family's history which a cousin had begun, adding many old photos and stories from living relatives. I enjoyed that so much I decided to write articles for our local newspaper, the Chinook Observer of Long Beach, WA. When this historic battleship came to nearby Astoria, OR, I was fortunate enough to be able to cover it, becoming "a real reporter" with the front page articles, which are the integral part of this book. That was the high point of my writing pursuits. Most recently I've been writing non-fiction books on Kindle and as paperbacks. Writing is in my bones, I guess, something I've always enjoyed tremendously.
