About the Author

Brett Green's first book, Augsburg's Last Eagles, was published by Eagle Editions Ltd in 2001; the subject matter was the camouflage and markings of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the last year of World War II. Since then he has written books on the Me 262 (Stormbird Colors), and on modelling the Bf 110, the P-47, and the P-40 (all for the Osprey Modelling series). He is also editor of HyperScale (www.hyperscale.com) an online model magazine established in 1998, and missing-lynx.com, a site dedicated to armour modelling. He also contributes regularly to a number of hobby magazines. The author lives in Australia.

Reviews

"This is a new departure for the Osprey Modelling series, dealing not with modeling a particular aircraft or tank but with the actual techniques used for all plastic modeling... All of the techniques here can be applied to any aircraft model -- making this an ideal book for a novice modeler as well as a handy reminded of how some techniques work for those of us who don't use some of them very often. Very highly recommended!" --John Prigent, Internet Modeler (April 2008)"Overall an excellent book for those seeking more information on how to build a model aircraft. A book that is really a must have for the beginning modeler and one that those seeking to better their current skills will find of interest." --Scott Van Aken, modelingmadness.com (April 2008)"Osprey's Modelling series shows how advanced modelers use their knowledge, skills and expertise to create incredibly and correctly detailed models of all sorts... Each book discusses how a variety of model kits are used to make authentic looking WWII vehicles... If you are looking for books that provide the high detailing to take your miniatures to the next level, you should check these books out." --Michael Koznarsky, Historical Miniature Gamer (Issue 11)"As a plastic modeler for more than 50 yeras, I found this a handy source of ideas and hints-some of which may well show up in my modeling columns in future issues of Aviation History." --Dick Smith, Aviation History (May 2009)"...this book is packed with useful information for the new modeler... Each of [the] chapters is amply illustrated, with the captions providing as much information as the text itself... For a novice modeler, this book will be of great use, as it presents a great number of useful tips in a single reference." --Chris BanyaiRiepl, Internet Modeler (April 2008)
