My name is Freda Mincey. I was born in Gadsden, Alabama; a Southern woman, born in the Heart of Dixie. My passion for the history of my ancestors came to life when I wrote a 500-page genealogy book. During this project I discovered I was twice related to General Robert E. Lee. I also found out that I am a descendant of General Stonewall Jackson, as well as "The Gray Ghost," John Singleton Mosby. Confederate Blood runs through my veins. I have replaced one monument, "The Black Creek Rock", here in Gadsden, and also the "Unity Monument", in Plantersville, Mississippi, for the graves of 13 known and 37 unknown Confederate dead. So they now can rest in peace. I have written numerous articles for the local newspapers. I am also a director of the Alabama Flaggers, along with co-director Justin Burton. Together we have accomplished many good things for the Cause. I hope you enjoy my book, and God bless. Deo Vindice.
