About the Author
Dumitru Dragos Cioclov is one of the most respected experts on the mechanics of structural materials. His entire academic life was devoted to this subject, starting with his PhD thesis on fatigue damage over the various research positions he held in Romanian, French and German institutes and universities. After his official retirement he was working as a freelance consultant on matters of materials mechanics for companies and institutions such as Airbus and TUV.
