Title: New Book Celebrates the History of the Nebraska State
Fair
Publisher: Arcadia Publishing
Date: 6/27/2011 Nebraska State Fair, a new pictorial history book
detailing the history of the Nebraska State Fair through vintage
photographs, will be published June 27. A portion of the proceeds
from the book sales will go toward the 1868 Nebraska State Fair
Foundation, whose mission is to raise funds for the overall
improvement of the Nebraska State Fair. The book, written by local
historian and author Mary L. Maas, includes more than 200 vintage
images and captions to give readers who have experienced the fair a
nostalgic walk down memory lane. "I wanted the photographs to give
a bird's eye view of how the fair tasted, smelled, and the wonders
that filled everyone's eyes and ears as they walked through the
animal barns, sat in the grandstand seats, wandered the exhibition
halls, and sauntered along the rows of the vendors," says Maas.
Nebraska State Fair will be available June 27, 2011 at area
