The voices spoke early to the young boy growing up in 1960s and 70s
Mississippi. As soon as his education permitted, he began to write
down some of what those voices told him and entertained his family
with boyish poetry. As he grew into his teens the voices spoke of
darker things, so he stopped sharing, and soon abandoned writing
altogether.
The voices didn't stop.
