About the Author

Huw Ellis-Williams was brought up in Bangor and studied in Oxford and Exeter. A pianist, organist and part-time composer, he teaches at a comprehensive school in north Wales where he is head of sixth form. Huw has a particular interest in instrumental music of the early 20th century, and in music for theatre and film. He is an examiner for OCR. Gavin Richards has been director of music at the Perse School in Cambridge since 2002. He has a music honours degree from Cambridge University and studied piano as a part-time student at the Royal Academy of Music. He has taught piano to students of all ages and has performed widely as a concerto and recital soloist - including a performance of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. He created the MusicLand website, which has become one of the leading online communities for music education in the UK, and he too contributes as a freelance writer to Rhinegold Publishing's Classroom Music.

Reviews

'This will clearly be a very valuable book for schools following the OCR specification. The authors are to be congratulated.' Iain Cooper, St Margaret's School, Exeter
