About the Author

Hilary is a psychologist registered with both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health & Care Professional Council (HCPC) in the UK. She has gained her experience in bereavement through various sources including training and working as a Cruse Bereavement Counsellor, giving insights into mourning issues for both adults and children within her role as a chartered psychologist and has direct personal experience of sudden death bereavement as well as death following a long illness. Hilary brings a gentle listening ear as well as a wealth of experience to her work. She wrote One Day at a Time to help anyone experiencing the many emotions of bereavement, allowing them to move through their grieving at their own pace and in their own manner. You come to realise that feelings of sadness, loneliness and pain are a common experience and you gain reassurance that what you experience is similar to many others on the same path. By the end of this book you will have an acceptance of the impact of grief and have found a support which has helped you move through your emotions.
