"An impressive book. The way we think and behave as parents does not only affect our relationship with a child, or even that child as an adult. It creates the society in which we live. It shapes the future of the world. Robin Grille explains how authoritarian parenting and denial of intimacy can create hatred and violence that warps our culture." Sheila Kissinger "In clear and compelling language Robin Grille explores the childhood origins of human action and choice, from its most violent to its most humane. This is the book that could save the world, if we can only pay attention." Jan Hunt, author The Natural Child "The combination of a strong foundation of clinical experience, journalstic integrity and concise ideas supported by extensive references sets this book apart from the work of others in the field. I believe that the framework for change provided in Robin Grille's book will become essential reading." Victor R Evatt, President, Australian Association of Infant Mental Health, New South Wales Branch"
