Saul P. Greenfield, MD, FAAP, FACS, is the
Director of Pediatric Urology at Oishei Children’s Hospital and a
Professor of Clinical Urology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo. He
has also served as Chair of the Urology Section of the American
Academy of Pediatrics, as well as President of the Societies for
Pediatric Urology. He was a recipient of the Duckett award for
excellence in pediatric urologic research. His clinical and
research interests run the gamut of surgery for congenital urologic
conditions—in particular, hypospadias repair and vesicoureteral
reflux. He was most recently a primary investigator in the National
Institutes of Health-sponsored RIVUR trial (Randomized Intervention
for the treatment of Vesico Ureteral Reflux).
Christopher S. Cooper, MD, FAAP, FACS, is
Professor and Vice Chairman of Urology at the University of Iowa,
Iowa City. He also serves as Director of the Pediatric Urology
Division at the Children’s Hospital. In addition, he serves as
Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education in the University of
Iowa Carver College of Medicine. In 2017, he was awarded the
endowed Tyrone D. Artz Chair in Urology.
Dr Cooper is the Executive Secretary of the Pediatric Urology
Advisory Council to the American Board of Urology, President Elect
of the American Academy of Pediatrics Affiliate Section on Urology,
past-president of the Society for Fetal Urology and of the North
Central Section of the American Urologic Association, and an active
member of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He
serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Urology
and has over 175 urological publications.
Dr Cooper graduated from the University of Iowa College of
Medicine, where he was awarded the Nathan G. Alcock Scholarship for
Outstanding Achievement in Urology. He completed his urology
residency after receiving an Outstanding Teaching Award from
medical students and the Iowa Urologic Society and has received
multiple teaching awards, including a Collegiate Teaching
Award. He is the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Alumni
Award for Achievement from the University of Iowa Carver College of
Medicine.
Dr Cooper completed a 2-year pediatric urology fellowship at the
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was the
recipient of an American Foundation for Urologic Disease and
American Urologic Association Research Scholarship. Additionally,
he was awarded the first Frank Hinman Jr Award for clinical
research by the Society of Pediatric Urology.
