Affairs of honour between bucks and blades, rakes and rascals; and affairs of the heart between heirs and orphans, beauties and bachelors; romance, intrigue, escapades and duels at dawn- all the gallantry, villainy and elegance of the age that Georgette Heyer has so triumphantly made her own are exquisitely revived in these eleven stories of the Regency.

Reviews

"Wonderful characters, elegant, witty writing, perfect period detail, and rapturously romantic. Georgette Heyer achieves what the rest of us only aspire to" -- Katie Fforde "My favourite historical novelist - stylish, romantic, sharp, and witty. Her sense of period is superb, her heroines are enterprising, and her heroes dashing. I owe her many happy hours" -- Margaret Drabble "A writer of great wit and style - I've read her books to ragged shreds" -- Kate Fenton Daily Telegraph "Every girl, whatever her age, needs her own complete set of Heyer titles. More than romantic they are witty, elegant, stylish and the best comedies of manners since Jane Austen. Required reading for everyone" -- Diane Pearson "Georgette Heyer is unbeatable" -- India Knight

A bunch of Regency short stories, some romantic, some adventures, some mysteries, all good. Well worth a read, with a marvellous selection of eccentric, unique characters prancing through the pages, some realistic, some not. A great book to read anywhere, anytime. I wish georgette heyer had written more short stories. A really good book.

A series of short stories, some romantic, some mysterious and some adventurous. Great plot to them all, all very well thought out and you actually wish that some of them had been written as a book as the characters are great. Great for a quick 15 minute before bed time read. Only problem is you can never stop at one!

A collection of wonderful and humourous stories by the very talented authoress, Georgette Heyer. Heyer is able to bring the richness and high society of Regency times to vibrant and vivid life right to the reader's doorstep. Each little gem of a story is a perfect treat and I could not lap them up fast enough. Told with considerable humour and wit .This is rich entertainment indeed and would enrich any collector or reader's library.
