About the Author

Samiyyah Iman was born in Wichita, KS and raised in Fort Worth, TX. She received her BA in English with a minor in Journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington. During and after her time in school, she assisted in writing, editing and critiquing a number of essays, short stories and novels. Samiyyah started writing poetry in the 7th grade after the death of a close friend. Her writing has evolved since then to include short stories and novels, She believes that coming from a single parent home where she was raised by her father along with her older brother, twin sister and a very diverse extended family has led her to have an open mind about many aspects of the world and a free spirit. She has travelled to various places across the country and has lived in 5 states so far. Her favorite states to visit are New York and California. She currently lives in Las Vegas, NV.
