I live with my husband, Paul, daughter, Beth and cats, Twyla and Angel near Albury, NSW. I have a BA ( Library and Information Science )in which I also majored in Literature, specialising in Children's Literature, a Graduate Diploma in Children's Services, ages 0 - 6 and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies, great if you are preparing tours of exhibitions or other community services for young children. Currently, I am working as part of the Learning and Outreach Team at the Albury LibraryMuseum doing what I love the most - telling stories to kids. Where do I start? - This was my instant, panic stricken thought in my first library job when presented with having to do pre-school storytime twice a week. I was 20 years old with no experience, no materials and no chance of getting out of it! What I discovered was a passion for storytelling, theatrics and really loud singing. I love watching little faces captivated by puppets, laughing at limericks and books, helping to put feltboard pieces up and then chasing them when they blow away. Since that first frightening time, I have collected and collated many folders ranging from rhymes, songs, feltboards, craft templates and storytelling themes that have supported me, colleagues, uni students and community groups over the last twenty years. I sincerely feel that every storyteller should have the fun that I do every time I step in front of a group of children for storytime. To that end, this book is designed to ease that first instant of panic and provide new storytellers with a head start.
