About the Author

Abu hamid al-Ghazali (d. 1111) was a leading scholar, jurist, and theologian of the golden age of Islam, and he remains its truest advocate in modern times. As a teacher of both inward and outward faith, he recorded these practical teachings in his forty-book compendium of Islamic knowledge.
Dr. Adi Setia has held academic posts at the Center for Advanced Studies in Islam, Science & Civilization (CASIS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and at the International Institute of Islamic Thought & Civilization (ISTAC). His current research interests are in the areas of History and Philosophy of Science, Islamic Science, and Islamic Gift Economy (IGE).
