Rev. Mona West earned a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY and has taught biblical studies at several colleges, universities and seminaries throughout the United States. Now retired, she formerly served as clergy with the Metropolitan Community Church

"The second edition of this incredible commentary has new voices which add even wider perspectives to a work which originally broke many conventions in its first incarnation. The first edition was published in 2006 and laid the foundations for an explosion of queer hermeneutical works by showing queer folk that they too could comment on biblical texts and that their queer eyes would open the texts to greater understanding and a wider readership, queer and straight.
