Richard B. Crowley was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois in 1968, but subsequently relocated to the western suburbs of the Chicagoland area. Richard has always had a love for reading science fiction and fantasy with J.R.R. Tolkien, R.A. Salvatore, Raymond Feist and Piers Anthony being his greatest influences. This novel, his first written work, evolved in his last year of undergraduate study in accounting, but left incomplete for nearly 20 years before taken up again. It was his need for escape from the mundane world and the desire to free himself from the conventions of reality that evolved into this work. Richard shares his living fantasy with his wife Debbie, there dogs Rags and Charlie along with a menagerie of exotic creatures unfortunately none of which breath fire.
