The author is a retired environmental scientist who worked on pollution, waste disposal, fisheries and ecology, living in UK and Victoria, Australia. Nature, families and science have always been important to him. His interest in poetry was nearly stifled at school but was awoken when works by C J Dennis, Banjo Patterson, and Robert Service, among others, were encountered and enjoyed in middle age.
This varied assortment of 32 original poems is traditional for using rhyme and rhythmic metre but modern because the language and ideas mostly come from the early 21st century. Subjects include nature, families, WWI, life, love, illness, death, drugs, and humanism. Poems of serious and frivolous intent are mixed for balance and variety. The author is a retired environmental scientist who lived in UK and Australia.
