About the Author

Robert Fisk has reported from virtually every trouble spot in the world for over forty years. His earliest assignments were during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and since then he has covered every international conflict, including the Afghanistan wars. Fisk interviewed Osama bin Laden on three occasions in the 1990s, and at one point in Osama bin Laden’s writings, bin Laden advises the White House to read Robert Fisk. Fisk has collected virtually every award in journalism, as well as honorary degrees, and is widely recognised as the finest foreign correspondent of his generation.
