David Wells has worked in libraries in Melbourne and was a Research Fellow in the School of Politics at La Trobe University. He is the author of two books on the poetry of Anna Akhmatova and has written numerous articles on 19th- and 20th-century Russian literature. Sandra Wilson was a lecturer in the School of History, La Trobe University, Melbourne (1988-96), and is the author of a number of articles on Japan.

About the Author

DAVID WELLS is a librarian at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. He has worked in libraries in Melbourne and was a Research Fellow in the School of Politics at La Trobe University. He is the author of two books on the poetry of Anna Akhmatova and has written numerous articles on 19th- and 20th-century Russian literature. SANDRA WILSON is Senior Lecturer and Chair of the Japanese Studies Programme at Murdoch University. She was a lecturer in the School of History, La Trobe University, Melbourne (1988-96). Dr Wilson is the author of a number of articles on Japan in the 1920s and 1930s. She is currently working on a book on Japanese nationalism.
