The first edition of the Sage Handbook of Organizational Institutionalism in 2008 signaled a reenergizing of institutional scholarship, integrating notions of multiplicity, power, agency, and practices into institutional thought. The 2017 edition builds on these developments, but also shows that the creative energy of the field continues unabated.
