It is not easy to disappear nowadays but it can be done. Amy
Schisler's suspense novel Picture Me tells of a young woman named
Melissa who finds herself in a dangerous situation so that she has
no other option but to live off the grid. Under an assumed name,
she begins to build a new life in St. Michaels, MD, making many
friends and cultivating one friendship in particular. Eric, a young
man who has suffered tragedy, has also found the small Eastern
Shore town as a place for healing and beginning again. But the
longer Melissa stays in the same place, the closer she comes to
being discovered by those who are hunting her. A great read!Picture
me is a fascinating mystery.
Each chapter has a dead body, a chase, gunshots and a women on the
run.
But not everything is gunpowder, the characters are likeable, the
town adorable and Eric's story is heartbreaking. So we have a mix
of action, romance, mystery, suspense, this is a perfect read for a
stormy afternoon or beside the swimming pool.
Highly recommended.I received this book as an arc for a honest
review. This was a great mystery read. The characters are well
developed and the author has a great talent with words so you can
picture the small town of St Braeden, MD. I loved the premise of
this story, how our lives have changed with technology and NSA
making it harder to disappear. It's scary if the facial recognition
can be read from any street camera or any public camera to find
people. And if that is true why can missing people and criminals
not be found? This book kept me turning the pages until the end,
great suspense!
