Reviews

"This readable and engaging Handbook clearly explains what Dual and Multiple Exceptionality (DME) is and then applies this understanding to teachers’ daily classroom practice and its impact for learners. Written by experts in high learning potential and special educational needs this book uses actual case studies to illustrate the fact that every child and young person is an individual who deserves a holistic view of their educational provision." Dr Sue Soan, Senior Lecturer, Canterbury Christ Church University"An accessible and informative read about an often overlooked group of learners. Presented in an engaging format through the use of real children’s experiences, this book provides an excellent guidance and reference point for helping to identify and better understand learners with complex needs and how to maximise their considerable potential in the classroom."Ellen Sargeant, Primary School Teacher"This is a most authoritative and timely book and I liked the format. A book written by experts in an easy to absorb language. Essential reading for school leaders, Heads of Inclusion, SENCos and GATCos. Follow this ‘yellow brick road’ and it really will raise the school’s standards of achievement. Inclusion, coproduction and an emphasis on strengths - a recipe for society as a whole"Prof Diane Montgomery – Professor Emerita at Middlesex University
