The impact of structural heterogeneity is becoming one of the major issues in the materials science of polymers. Presented in two parts, this study first reviews evidence of the heterogeneity of filled polymers, polymer blends and copolymers on different structural scales. The second section is devoted to the analysis of composition dependence of heat conductivity and thermoelastic parameters of different polymeric materials.
