NANCY W. BOYER began writing after retiring from the Florida School System, where she was chosen by her school as Teacher of the Year. Her first books were for children. Believing that young people needed to learn values, she began a series called THE NANNY BOOKS. For a number of years, she also has written an online blog of inspiration, history, and music called Boyer Writes. Following teaching English in Mongolia, Boyer was chosen as one of seven teachers from the State of Florida to travel and experience the Japanese culture and observe their school system. She is grateful to the Japanese Educational System for giving her this honor. This opened to her a love for experiencing new cultures. Boyer has traveled extensively throughout the world with Student Ambassadors and with Christian Missions. She taught English in Donetsk Christian University in Ukraine and went to the interior of Guatemala to find women and churches that had survived previous government massacres. All these experiences and a love of history eventually led her to write her first historical novel, THE SEEDS. Having grown up in North Carolina, she began to focus on a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains with a continuing series about the beauty, culture and history of this part of the United States. She and her husband, Bill, a retired Navy Chaplain and Christian minister make the Blue Ridge of Virginia their home for part of each year. They have four grown children and two grandchildren. She does not want to leave out Gracie, their golden retriever, who slept at her feet most of the time she was writing this novel.
