These scrap quilts follow may rules. A scrap is at least 3 1/2" square. Only three templates are used 3 1/2", 4 1/2" and 5 1/2". Any type of print can be used in a cluster with other prints of the same colour. Bias edge can be interfaced before cutting. There is also an important Keystone block, one 3 1/2" square and two rectangles cut from a 5 1/2" square. The 11 bed quilts have intricate patterns, often with elongated triangles, with colours merging across the top. The triangles are cut from the template squares. These quilts require accurate cutting. The instructions are precise and detailed.

I loved how she gives tips to help with colour combinations. I struggle to ‘marry’ fabrics, and tend to have a clash right in the middle of my project. There are no templates, but there are tips and diagrams to find the best cutting method, reducing the need for a template and waste of your fabric. This is a fabulous book, it is one for beginners and advanced quilters and will definitely provide hours of fun sewing and you will end up with something stunning.

I can’t think of a good enough adjective to describe the deliciousness of these designs, their richness, their beauty, and their style! There are 11 quilts in the book and each, and every single, one of them is a stunner! Each quilt starts with the stunning photo along with the materials you’ll need, the cutting information and information about the design and top tips for making it. In addition, there are easy to follow step-by-step instructions for making your own version of this quilt from your scraps. Each step has written instructions and clear visual images to guide you along the way. This is a beautiful book full of incredible images and designs for using colours creatively with the fabric off cuts in your stash! The photography is stunning and plentiful.
