Maris Lobdell D'souza (familian Borja, which means "of the Borja family") grew up in the village of Agat, by the sea, on the island of Guam. As a child, she loved to play with seashells on the shores of Ga'an Point, and she spent many years quietly drawing cartoons in the back of the classroom at Agat Elementary School, Piti Middle School, and Oceanview High School. She also was an avid reader of the Pacific Daily News, which inspired her to receive a journalism degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. She now writes short stories as a hobby, and she enjoys computer graphic design, as well as craft making. Currently, she resides in Texas with her husband and children. She has not forgotten the loving people from her island, who pray together and support each other, with the love of Christ.
