About the Author

Cynthia James has over twenty-five years of professional experience in the high-tech industry. She has spent the last seven years exclusively focused on cyber security and possesses one of the most rigorous security certifications in the world, the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), which requires knowledge of the best security practices within ten different areas including physical security, software development, and encryption. In her job with Kaspersky Lab, a multinational computer security company, James speaks, writes, and teaches extensively about cybercrime. She has written this book to address the growing gap between the complex realities of the cybercrime environment and the average person's need for simplified information and basic protection principles. James is a runner and a pilot who lives in Silicon Valley with her two children and their various pets.
