About the Author

Allan Trench is research professor (Value & Risk) at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, The University of Western Australia (UWA), Professor of Practice at the UWA Business School, a non-executive director of several resource sector companies - and the Perth representative for CRU Consulting, a division of independent metals and mining advisory CRU Group. Allan is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM) (allan.trench@uwa.edu.au). Allan has written several books, including Mining Boom and Australia's Next Top Mining Shares. John Sykes is a provisional PhD candidate and an adjunct research fellow at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, The University of Western Australia; as well as director of Greenfields Research, a consultancy focused on exploration, mine project development and mining economics and strategy. John is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London (FGS), a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM), Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM) and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (MAIG) (john.sykes@greenfieldsresearch.com)
