Jayne Ann Krentz is the author of more than fifty New York Times bestsellers. She has written contemporary romantic suspense novels under that name, as well as futuristic and historical romance novels under the pseudonyms Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick, respectively. There are more than 35 million copies of her books in print.
Beautiful Octavia Brightwell has turned down handsome widower Nick Harte's invitations six times! In the third of the "Eclipse Bay" trilogy, the romance between Nick and Octavia begins with a series of misunderstandings, of course, mostly the result of rumors and gossip. The Harte-Madison feud seems to be cooling off, but there are still long memories and deep resentments in town. It turns out that Octavia is related to the woman who started the feud many years ago. The permanent residents are delightful (Nick's five-year-old son, Carson, and the lovable loonies in the Incandescent Bakery) and exasperating (the ladies in the beauty shop and the guys in the beer joint); they all have loudly voiced opinions about everything, including the blossoming romance and the theft of a valuable painting from Octavia's art gallery. Krentz can be counted on to serve up light romantic stories with all the elements her legions of fans enjoy. Reader Joyce Bean does a fine job with the voices of the many characters. Highly recommended for light fiction collections.-Barbara Valle, El Paso P.L., TX Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
