All Chloe Saunders wants is a life like any normal teenager - the chance to get through school, make friends, and maybe meet a boy. But when she starts seeing ghosts, she knows that life will never be normal again. Soon ghosts are everywhere, demanding her attention. When Chloe finally breaks down, she's admitted to a group home for disturbed kids. At first Lyle House seems okay, but as she gets to know the other patients - charming Simon and his ominous, unsmiling brother Derek; obnoxious Tori; and Rae, who has a 'thing' for fire - Chloe begins to realise that something strange and sinister binds them all together, and it isn't your usual 'problem kid' behaviour. And they're about to discover that Lyle House is not your usual group home, either ...

I just finished reading this book today, couldn't put it down, and had to come and rave about it! It is a well written book, suspenseful but realistic, I like how the heroine doesn't just straightout believe she is seeing ghosts straight away and thinks for a while that she might in deed by a bit crazy.

There is a touch of romantic interest but it is done in such a way that it is not the central part of the book and it is a thriller mainly, great for those fans of the supernatural. Brilliant, read it read it read it!!!

This book starts off ok, but then slows down. The energy does begin to pick up again towards the end, when Kelley's usual fantastic style begins to shine through, but the story is halted in a 'to-be-continued' style. This servies seems to be written for a younger audience than her usual work, as the main characters are teenagers.

Chloe thinks she's hallucinating dead people, so after a nasty episode at school, she is sent to a half-way house for disturbed teens. There, after being diagnosed schizophrenic, she discovers her fellow patients and the half-way house have secrets that are connected to the Otherworld.

I'm still not sure whether I liked this book, although its definitely not as good as her Women of the Otherworld series. I think I'll have to read the next book, The Awakening, to make up my mind.
