Lesley Lokko was born in Scotland in 1964 of mixed Ghanaian-Scots parentage. She grew up in Ghana, and was educated in Ghana, the US and the UK. Lesley put her long years of architectural training to good use and designed her own home in Ghana. As soon as it was finished, she turned straight round and went to live in Hackney.
