W. Clapham Murray, known as Cope, spent his college years at Wesleyan University in Connecticut from 1949 to 1953. Those were great times, carefree times. He was a theatre major, drawn into the program by Robert Ludlum, a fraternity brother. He went on to pursue a career in the theatre, become a member of Actors Equity and The Screen Actors Guild. When he wasn't acting, he was passing his knowledge on as a Professor of Theatre Arts. A goodly section of the tale from O'Reilly's Porch focuses upon the dynamics of a community theatre and all the personalities therein.
