Jamie Cannon does lots of things. Her favorite official thing to do is write. She writes children's stories, blogs, and even some grown up non-fiction. Jamie has worked in many places and has too much experience and probably too much education. She likes to put all of that nonsense to good use by writing about it. Jamie has traveled to a lot of places and lived in just a few. She has had plenty of jobs, none of which are as fun as this one. She is a real grown up with real issues, but she acts like a kid when it matters. She also really likes to make fun of herself and has plenty of real-life experience doing this. If you catch her on a good day, she will probably be an interesting mixture of fun and ridiculousness. Jamie firmly believes in using her imagination. She uses it to escape everyday boredom and to create connections with her readers. She imagines everyone is unique and has something special to offer, and she wants to help everyone see this for themselves. She loves her family too much, depends on Jesus every minute, and has an amazing husband and son. Gene Schrader started drawing at three years old. He is well known as a wildlife pen and ink artist in the Western area of the US and lesser known as a beloved children's book illustrator. His favorite subjects have ranged from dinosaurs to grizzly bears, but he has a special place in his heart for pickles. Gene's artwork has included wildlife pen and ink, acrylic painting, and colored pencils. He has participated in countless art shows, created t-shirt designs, and produced cartoons for local community program events. Sometimes, when he is extra tired, he even considers learning watercolor (at the request of his fan base). Gene initially attended college to become an art teacher after being inspired by Jim Terry, his favorite art teacher back in the good old days. He later changed career paths but has kept producing art in limited editions as a hobby. He has even been known to concoct metal sculptures in his free time. Gene's talent for children's book illustrations was largely unknown, even to himself, until a pesky pickle came knocking. He is now enjoying his new role and firmly believes God had a plan all along. Gene owns his own business in Cody, WY with his wife and spends his free time camping, fishing, and golfing.
The Pesky Pickle was written and illustrated in a fun way that allows children to stay interested and understand the story behind of it. This is a great read for children of all ages and allows an opportunity for parents to have needed conversations with their kiddos. My family is excited for the next book! This book is well written and illustrated in a way young children can understand and relate. In this book, The Pesky Pickle, it teaches little ones that our mind can fear the unknown and how reaching out to others for help, can make it easier and less scary!! Great book with a great message.Such a great story about a child trying to be bravely independent, getting anxious about a few things, finding that braveness again and being proud of himself for doing so! Great lesson for children. I bought copies for my Grandkids & they love the book and illustrations. Definitely worth it!This is a great book to help kids understand fear. Actually it works for teens and adults too. The illustrations are great, cute, and keep the kids interest. The Pesky Pickle is an adorable childrens book but we big kids are loving it too!
