Nancy Robinson Flannery's late husband, Dr Alick Whittle, was a student and protege of Sir Douglas Mawson in the 1930s. Nancy has been a radio journalist, an editor, a columnist, a tutor in communications skills and freelance journalism, a consultant for the National Film and Sound Archive and a Valuer for the Tax Incentive for the Arts Scheme. She was executive editor for Nadjuri Publishers, and has written and edited a number of books. She is now an independent researcher, writer and compulsive gardener.
"Nancy Robinson Flannery has done a fine job of editing these unabridged letters. They make poignant reading and are a reminder that even heroes suffer the same doubts and frailties as the rest of us." --"Australian Book Review"
