Cyprus born and raised and USA university educated. His love of history is home grown. His father was a prolific writer and an indelible example that gave the author the "guts to go for it" even at a late stage in life. At Ripon College he earned the A.B. degree. At Northeastern University, Boston, he continued with graduate studies earning the M.Sc. degree and continued with Ph.D. studies. Finally, he had Harvard University graduate training in Administration and Management through case studies. This gave him additional insight into policy, leadership and leaders such as those covered in this book. He also had a Harvard writing class that prepared him to write this book. The author, as a sixteen year old, first came to the United States. He won an American Field Service scholarship. He then made presentations about Cyprus to numerous organizations. This book is in a way an elaborate continuation, albeit at the opposite part of his life. He believes in lifelong learning, and peaceful settlement of difference among peoples.
