Phil Rogers is a well-known potter. He is a fellow of the Craft Potters Association and currently the chairman of its council. For a number of years, he has run summer pottery workshops on throwing at his home in Wales.
"With the help of step-by-step illustrations, Rogers explains how to make pots, jugs, plates, bottles, teapots, and lids, and discusses the process of turning and faceting. There is a chapter on design and one containing photographs of pots that were made with complicated techniques... An excellent introduction."--Booklist "Throwing Pots is for beginners. It covers clay preparation, centering, and also explains making bottles, plates, bowls, and a teapot. The sequencing and pacing of the narrative and visuals are well coordinated... If you are starting out, this is the affordable little book for you."--Fusion Magazine
