He is an AIPG Certified Professional Geologist; an Illinois Licensed Professional Geologist; a US Patent recipient; an FAA licensed Private Pilot; a master sculptor of the finest bronze sculpture; a rock climber who has solo summited the Devils Tower; an expert snowboarder; a motorcycle enthusiast; a PADI certified scuba diver; and a Missouri spelunker. He is a member of: the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Sigma XI, the National Rifle Association, the Illinois State Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, the National Association for Gun Rights, the Blue Ribbon Coalition, the National Space Society, the Planetary Society, and the Illinois Sheriffs' Association.
