A public relations professional and children's advocate, Nicole is very excited about her first publication. A theater kid since the age of five, Nicole found her love for children through the My Name is Matthew Program (theater for an audience of disabled children). From there, she went on to receive her bachelor's degree in public relations and a minor in psychology (graduating Summa Cum Laude). During which time, she volunteered as creative director for P.R.S.S.A. and became certified in the theory and practice of child life. She now works full-time for Princeton Theological Seminary's advancement team, and is a guest lecturer for Rutgers Medical School (in association with Robert Wood Barnabas Health). "I spent much of my life picking apart the unsolicited advice that people gave me on a daily occasion. This led to a lifetime of MacGyver-like inventions and a deeper understanding of two-way communication. After a while, the sound of me beating to my own drum drowned out the unsolicited advice. This is coming from someone who works in fundraising; I know when solicitations aren't welcome. My hope is that this book brings awareness to the idea that not all two cents are valuable. Every child should have the ability to reach for their dreams, in spite of the criticism that they may face. One's ability to decipher between helpful advice and hurtful advice is the most valuable gift. In the end, the decision is yours."
