Harri Aalto was born in a small village north of Tampere in Finland. When he was about five years old he moved with his family to Canada. Harri recalls that, even as a small child, he had the ever-present experience of a surrounding bubble of light that provided happiness and security throughout the days and nights of his childhood. As a teenager, Harri attended an art high school in Toronto and then went on to the Ontario College of Art, graduating with honors. At this time, Harri experienced that he was constantly awake inside-day and night-to the point where his nights could no longer be found. After his school years, Harri pursued drawing, painting, and sculpture. He found inspiration for his work within his evolving internal perceptions of the luminous celestial realms of his experience. In 1973, Harri and his wife Cathy learned Transcendental Meditation. For a number of years, Harri worked personally for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as an artist and sculptor in various countries around the world. His experiences with meditation unfolded many wonderful, ongoing states of awareness.Harri now lives with his family in southeast Iowa. His work as a fine artist and designer continues, but his main interest lies in writing and speaking about the understanding and experience of Self-awareness.
