About the Author

Dan Peters, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who has devoted his career to the assessment, consultation and treatment of children, adolescents, and families, specializing in learning differences, anxiety, and issues related to giftedness and twice-exceptionality. He is passionate about helping parents and teachers engage children in the classroom, at home, and in life so that they can realize their full potential. Dr. Peters is co-founder and Executive Director of the Summit Center with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Torrance, and co-founder of Parent Footprint, an online interactive parent training program. He hosts the Parent Footprint Podcast, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and elsewhere. He is the author of Make Your Worrier a Warrior: A Guide to Conquering Your Child's Fears, From Worrier to Warrior: A Guide to Conquering Your Fears, The Warrior Workbook (co-authored with Dr. Lisa Reid and Stephanie Davis), and Raising Creative Kids (co-authored with Dr. Susan Daniels). Dr. Peters writes and speaks on topics related to parenting, learning differences, and education. He was recognized as "2018 SENG Mental Health Professional of the Year" by the Supporting Emotional Needs of Gifted organization. Dr. Peters is co-founder of Camp Summit, a sleep-over summer camp for gifted youth. Dr. Lisa Reid has served as a teacher and an administrator in the K-12 teaching system for over a decade. She specializes in working with children who have complex learning needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, poor motivation, sensory processing issues, low academic self-esteem, performance anxiety and poor social and executive functioning skills. Dr. Reid has been particularly dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children who display learning related behavioral challenges, children who display higher level thinking ability yet underachieve, and children who are gifted but often find themselves in trouble or completely misunderstood due to their intense nature, social/emotional challenges and/or learning difficulties. She is dedicated to recognizing the inner integrity of all children, and helping them to reach their full potential as learners. Dr. Reid provides parent support, group instruction, private educational therapy, educational consultation, and teacher trainings in Orange County, CA. Stephanie Davis, M.Ed. is a teacher and educational therapist with extensive training in learning disabilities and intervention strategies specific to learning differences. Her education includes a Master in Education and teaching credential from University of California, Los Angeles and the Educational Therapy Certification from University of California, Riverside. She interned at Kaiser Watts Counseling and Learning Center and is passionate about addressing the comprehensive needs of a child: academic, non-academic and social-emotional. She lives in Southern California with her three children, two cats, and a puppy.
